All right. So i bought a coffee maker that grinds the WHOLE coffee bean for you then it automatically drops the coffee grounds into the basket. How much WHOLE coffee beans should i put in and how much water should i put in if i plan on making 2 cups of coffee?
I always put one spoonful per cup. And then I add one. Sometimes I add two.
Everyone says my coffee is too strong.
I say screw them.
not sure but wish i had a coffeemaker like that!
Coffee is measured in 5 ounces per cup. A 12 cup pot is 60 ounces and you use no less than 2 ounces (about 2 tablespoons) of coffee to brew. You do the math. I don’t know how many beans that would be. there should be directions on the package of beans or on the maker/grinder you have. (My maker says not to brew coffee with less than 2 ounces no matter how much water you use because if you don’t use at least that much coffee, it will be oily.)
*$’S Measure their coffee as 5 ounces equal a cup of coffee (so you can see how selling millions of cups a day 1 ounce short increases their profit).
The rest of the Civilized world measures 6 ounces as a cup of coffee, but pick your poison.
I measure 2 tablespoons of coffee beans or about 14 grams, to which is added 12 ounces of hot water. That’s My 2 cups of coffee.
With all that said, Adjust the coffee to water ratio to SUIT YOUR TASTES. If you are the person drinking the coffee, make it to YOUR taste. Just because Bubba Fred like 4 ounces of grounds to 3 ounces of water doesn’t mean you have to drink it that way. If you will note on the side of a package of coffee I think it says ‘Recommended” or “Suggested” amounts. It been so long since I bought someone elses roast I couldn’t tell you if it’s in English or Japanese.
So my last suggestion is ROAST YOUR OWN coffee beans, get the real flavor.
I think it was Beethoven who counted out 60 beans per cup of coffee.
I grow, roast and grind my own coffee. About 60 beans makes a 6 oz cup. But don’t bother counting.
Just measure two lightly rounded tablespoons of beans per cup. You can add a few more beans or a few less according to your personal preference.
Always use fresh, cold water. Never used distilled water. If you have bottled water, that is better than tap water.
And never reheat coffee by boiling it. Boiling brings out a bitter taste. Warm slowly in a pot on heat; not in a microwave. Leaving the coffee on the coffeemaker’s warmer continues to “cook” the coffee; just as bad as boiling!
If you make a lot of coffee and need to keep it warm, pour it into a Thermos bottle and close the top. It will stay hot and fresh for a few hours.
Hi, general rule of thumb is 7.25 gram of coffee bean for 5ounce of water. This makes you about 1 cup of coffee. So, for 2 cups simply double the amount.
