I didn’t know if you put milk in a coffee maker, and i messed up my dad’s. Unless i figure out how to fix it, i’ll have to buy him a new one. Can you tell me how to do that?

Try running 50/50 mix of vinegar and water threw it a couple of time then run plain water threw it a couple more to rinse. This is how I clean mine, but I never put milk in it. Good Luck and Merry X-mas

You need to clean it real good. I personally would not use the dishwasher I would hand wash it. Make sure you rinse out every part extremely well. You can use vinegar, but I would not run that through the coffee maker. Once its clean let it dry overnight; drying is very important.

Assuming it is a 12 cup maker, put 6 cups of water and about 4 ounces of white vinegar in the pot and let it run through a cycle. When the carafe is full, pour it back through again and see if the stuff dripping in the carafe is clear or milky colored. If it is clear, you’re in luck, you’ve cleaned it out. Now run 12 cups of clean water through the system to flush the vinegar out. You might want to do this twice, using clean water both times.
