My employer told me to fill the coffee maker with vinegar. Do I use white vinegar or the apple cider vinegar?

white vinegar and then plain water again

White vinegar diluted with water. It’ll smell up your whole house, once the vinegar runs through run water through twice. It should be in the coffee makers instruction manuel. There is also a coffee maker cleaner that you can buy in the supermarket, that’s what I use

Use a full pot of distilled white vinegar mixed half and half with water until clean (drips satisfactorily). Continue to run a few more pots of plain water through the automatic coffee maker to get the vinegar smell and taste out of it.

White vinegar works well, or you can go to a hardware store and they sell these packets of Coffee Maker Cleaner, they work well for stubborn stains.

Yep – you’ve got plenty of correct answers. White vinegar is the best. And like the others said, dilute it or it will smell like the night before Easter in your kitchen!

If your coffee pot/carafe is clear, you’ll probably see some gunk in the water on the first passing of the vinegar. It’s amazing what lives in the coffee maker…

Be sure and run three or four more pots of water through the cycle to get all of the vinegar out. However…if you don’t…it’s a sure-fire way to wake up the next morning! :o )
