How do I clean the heater part of my coffee pot?

I know how to clean the internal part of my coffee pot but not the bottom heater pot. I don’t want to ruin it but it’s old and getting rusty. Any suggestions?

read the manual or call the 800# under your machine. every machine has different way of cleaning. mine is automatic, you pour. water then press clean. just contact the company or read your owners manual.

CLR is a good cleaning product for coffee makers, caraffes, etc. You just pour some in the bottom, enough to cover the rusty or limed up area, let it set for awhile, then pour out and rinse. The instructions are clearly printed on each bottle so if you just follow them you should have a clean coffee pot in no time. I’ve used it extensively and had very good results.
